Exercise Overview

The leg extension is an isolation exercise that targets the quadriceps by extending the knees against resistance. The machine-guided motion allows focused muscle engagement and controlled loading, making it effective for strengthening the front of the thighs.

How To Do It

1. Setup

Sit on the leg extension machine and adjust the pad so it rests just above your ankles. Grip the handles for support.

2. Starting Position

Bend your knees to the starting position with feet under the pad and back pressed into the seat.

3. Execution

Extend your legs upward until they are nearly straight. Squeeze the quadriceps at the top of the movement.

4. Return

Lower the pad slowly back to the starting position under control, keeping tension on the muscles.
