- Equipment: Seated Calf Raise Machine
- Difficulty: Beginner
Exercise Overview
The seated calf raise machine is an isolation exercise that targets the calf muscles, with greater emphasis on the soleus due to the bent-knee position. The machine provides controlled resistance, making it ideal for beginners and for building calf strength and endurance safely.
How To Do It
1. Setup
Sit on the seated calf raise machine and place the balls of your feet on the platform. Position your knees under the padded lever.
2. Starting Position
Lower your heels slightly to feel a stretch in the calves. Keep your back upright and core engaged.
3. Execution
Press through the balls of your feet to raise your heels upward as high as possible. Squeeze the calves at the top of the movement.
4. Return
Lower your heels slowly back to the starting position under control, maintaining tension throughout.
